A temporary wood protection is an item that can be used from the inventory (by selecting and clicking the little hand icon that appears) to get a 30 second physical resistance buff.
This item is a bit odd since it's the only non-food item to give a buff when used, and unlike food can do so outside of a campfire. Also despite it's name, no wooden protection appears and you can still move around freely. This is especially wierd when compared to the 
barricade kit.
