Gas canisters are a weapon that can be used for both melee and ranged attacked. As a ranged weapon it can be used to inflict a large amount of fire damage to a decently large area as well as project them all away from the center. Unlike other exploding ranged weapons, this will stay in your inventory even after the skill is used. It can be salvaged for fuel.
This item shares a skill with the 
gas bottle, although the gas bottle only ever has one use and cannot be salvaged afterwards.
