The gas bottle is a ranged weapon which can be used to inflict a large amount of fire damage to a decently large area as well as project them all away from the center. It can be salvaged for fuel.
This item shares a skill with the 
gas canister. The gas canister is an overall superior choice as it has melee stats, can be used more than once (at higher qualities), and isn't consumed when it's skills are used up (allowing it to be salvaged).
