The dog (also known as doggo^[1]) is a companion released on 12 April 2018 (V1.28 ).

This is not to be confused with the dog infected which was replaced by the tracker in alpha/early beta.

Quest

You first learn about the dog in the "New kinds of ally" quest (and learn his name is Pouch). After this quest, you must become friends with Sylvie Dawson (by earning 250 points with her). This can be done by, once a day, finding her dog in various zones and completing their task. Each task will earn you 25 points, thus requiring at least 10 days to complete.

After getting 250 points, return to Sacramento Suburbs and talk to Sylvie Dawson. A new quest will unlock. After this quest, you have to become friends with the dog (by earning 700 points).

Renown

After befriending Sylvie Dawson, you can begin gaining renown with the dog to unlock it as a companion.

Progress milestone 0/3 (250 points)

Go to lakeview, talk to Kelly Marsh near bike.
Go to santa rosa
go to the house where Sylvie Dawson died (house to the right of the hospital (near the graveyard)).
Search the bedroom (cabinet, dog bed, box)
Go south east to the railroad track, and about half way down them inspect the torn up panda plush on the ground.
Go to sunset mall
Inspect the panda plush on the golf course north of the unlit campfire (near the golf's bike).
Go to walker river (take the bike south of the panda plush, no reason to go to spawn).
Inspect the panda plush near the south most bridge near the river (east side).
Go to lakeview and talk to Kelly.
Go to the museum.
Inspect the paw prints to the north east of bike.
Go the the red fast food building at the east corner of the map and inspect the door to the back room.
Find a crowbar and inspect the door again.
Inspect dog, and then fetch a Drinking water bottle (it may be quicker to grab one from another map; see item page for locations), and then fill the dog's bowl.
Follow the dog and kill nearby infecteds when it stops (ignore dog's health, it can't die). Stops:
- North east of building Chloe was trapped in (27).
- South of the building Chloe was trapped in (35).
- West of the fast food restaurant dog was in (53).
- Near the dinosaur statue in front of the museum (53).
Inter act with dog, then follow it to the spawn and take bike to lakeview.
